Top Profit-Making PSUs in FY22 Include ONGC, Indian Oil, and Power Grid

The net profit of operating central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) in India increased by 50.87% to INR 2.49 lakh crore ($34.4 billion) in the 2021-22 fiscal year, according to the Public Enterprises Survey.

This marks an increase from INR 1.65 lakh crore ($22.7 billion) in the previous fiscal year. The survey also revealed that the net loss of loss-making CPSEs decreased by 37.82% to INR 0.15 lakh crore ($2.1 billion) in 2021-22, down from INR 0.23 lakh crore ($3.2 billion) in the previous fiscal year.

The gross revenue of operating CPSEs in 2021-22 was INR 31.95 lakh crore ($44.5 billion), a 32.65% increase from INR 24.08 lakh crore ($33.3 billion) in 2020-21.

The sectors with the highest revenue were manufacturing, processing and generation, followed by services and mining and exploration.

The top five CPSEs in terms of net profit were ONGC, Indian Oil Corp, Power Grid, NTPC and SAIL.
