Delhi CG Animation Awards 2025: Celebrating the future of India’s creative talent with a grand showcase of Animation, VFX, Digital Design and Gaming prowess

~Aimed at recognizing and celebrating the brightest emerging talent in Animation, VFX, Gaming, and Digital Design, DCGAA 2025 drew participation from over 1000 students across four key MAAC centres in Delhi-NCR~

New Delhi, 17th JULY 2025: MAAC South Extension, MAAC Rajouri Garden, MAAC Pitampura, and MAAC Preet Vihar, successfully concluded the 12th edition of the Delhi CG Animation Awards (DCGAA) with resounding success, at a packed venue filled with energy, talent, and creative brilliance at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Friday, 11th July 2025.

Aimed at recognizing and celebrating the brightest emerging talent in Animation, VFX, Gaming, and Digital Design, DCGAA 2025 drew participation from over 1000 students across all four MAAC centres in Delhi. This year’s theme saw students create over 100+ original short films and digital projects, showcasing diverse interpretations and innovative storytelling techniques.

We seek to make this 12th edition of the Delhi CG Animation Awards the biggest-ever celebration of student creativity and ambition in India’s Animation, VFX, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) Media & Entertainment Industry. The talent, discipline and originality seen in this year’s submissions was unmatched and my heartiest congratulations to all the winners,” said Mr. Deepak Choudhary, Founder, Delhi CG Animation Awards (DCGAA) and Director, MAAC South Extension, MAAC Rajouri Garden, MAAC Pitampura, and MAAC Preet Vihar.

This animation award ceremony in Delhi was also graced by Mr. Sandip Weling, Chief Business Officer, Global Retail Business at Aptech Limited and Brand Custodian at MAAC, who delivered a powerful keynote address. “You are entering one of the most promising industries of the future. I applaud MAAC’s students, and everyone present here today for creating a platform where one can dream, create, and be celebrated. As Aptech, we will continue to support such initiatives that empower India’s youth in the creative economy,” said Mr. Weling, addressing the packed hall.

The gala night witnessed a footfall of 1200+ attendees, comprising students, faculty, industry professionals, and media. Dance, skit and musical performances prepared by students of MAAC Delhi made the event a fun packed affair. Teary smiles of joy was a constant spectacle throughout the day. Overwhelmed by the sheer magnanimity of the showcase, celebration and recognition of the endless efforts put in by themselves, the students’ emotions reached crescendo as each award winner was announced. No one lost at DCGAA 2025, it was a union of creative artists celebrating each other.

This year, 28 awards were presented to deserving students across categories for technical and creative excellence. Participating institutes included MAAC South Extension, MAAC Rajouri Garden, MAAC Pitampura, and MAAC Preet Vihar —all of whom played an integral role in making DCGAA a success. The event’s college-fest vibe was elevated with backstage collaborations, peer mentoring, and real-world project simulations leading up to the awards.

The Delhi CG Animation Awards proudly recognized outstanding achievements across multiple categories, celebrating creativity and innovation from various MAAC branches. In the Best 2D Animated Film category, “Photochaap Mosquito Coil” and “Waggi” from MAAC South Extension were honoured. Best 3D Animated Film accolades went to “Warriors of Kukushetra” from MAAC Preet Vihar, “Pharaoh’s Curse” from MAAC Rajouri Garden, and “DivineTrip.Com” from MAAC South Extension, which also secured awards for Best Background Score and Best Rigging & Animation.

The Best Branding & Multimedia category featured winners such as “Skyline” from MAAC Pitampura, “Gharonda Greens Real Estate” from MAAC Rajouri Garden, and “Nivaasa” from MAAC South Extension. Best Character Design was awarded to “Laxmi vs Mrs. Batra,” while “Vijay Bhava” received the Best Cinematography honour.

In technical excellence, “GEN AI Courses By MAAC” earned recognition for both Best Compositing & Colour Grading and Best VFX Ad Film, alongside “Asus Rog Strix Scar 18.” The Best Concept award went to “MAAC Rachna Ke Dhurandar,” while “Zidd” secured Best Editing and shared Best Live Action Film honours with “Upscale Watch.” “Warriors of Kurukshetra” was distinguished in both Best Modelling and Best Texturing & Lighting categories, and “Paper Girl” claimed the award for Best Set Design. Finally, Best Website UI/UX Designing accolades were shared by “Skyline” from MAAC Pitampura and “Gharonda Greens Real Estate” from MAAC Rajouri Garden.

These awards stand as a testament to the exceptional talent and dedication cultivated across MAAC’s creative community. Students ran to the stage on being declared winner with so much gusto and excitement that the entire audience celebrated, smiled & applauded with a full heart.
